Everyone is alive and well: the first volunteers who tested the COVID-19 vaccine were discharged from the hospital

Russian scientists have completed the clinical stage of testing a vaccine against coronavirus. A group of people who received the drug have already been sent home.

Researchers around the world are looking for a vaccine against the ill-fated coronavirus infection, which has killed millions of people.

Domestic scientists are also working on formulas - some of them can already boast of encouraging results.

Especially now attention is focused on the vaccine that is being developed at the Gamaleya National Research Center for Epidemiology and Microbiology.

The fact is that a few weeks ago its clinical trials began on military personnel specially selected for this purpose.

Among them are 5 women: the Ministry of Defense selected volunteers to test the coronavirus vaccine

As the press service of the research center reported, all subjects tolerated the vaccination well, and soon they developed immunity to coronavirus infection.

Moreover, the first group has already been sent home to their usual conditions.

“Our volunteers, having received a dose of the vaccine, tolerated it absolutely well. Today they are leaving the clinical base of Sechenov University,” Elena Smolyarchuk, the center’s chief researcher, told RIA Novosti on July 15.

According to Elena, the subjects complained only of standard side effects that appear after the administration of any other vaccine: slight pain in the injection area, weakness and fever, which soon went away.

According to the publication, after completing all tests of the vaccine, volunteers will receive a reward of about one hundred thousand rubles.
