The Internet is discussing the connection between the 4th season of “Stranger Things” and “Black Widow”

And it does fit!

A new fan theory is going viral on Twitter. Fans found references in the new Stranger Things trailer that the fourth season tells the backstory of Black Widow , and Hopper is actually Alexei Shostakov from the Marvel universe (aka Red Guardian). Although this sounds wild and untrue, the setting is really similar, and both characters are played by the same actor - David Harbour.

Theory:
Hopper is alive in stranger things but the crew never find him and he is trained by the Russians and becomes Red Guardian from the black widow movie
Stranger things is confirmed part of the MCU

Theory: Hopper from Stranger Things survived, but the kids couldn't find him, so he's trained by the Russians and becomes Red Guardian from Black Widow. It has been proven that Stranger Things is part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The theory seems crazy, but it has many supporters.

What about this: Hopper never left Russia and found a new vocation

How about this: Hopper never made it out of Russia and found a new job?

So...
The Red Guardian is Russian... Jim Hopper is in Russia and they both look vaguely similar...

I wonder when he's gonna tell the kids he took some time off to be Red Guardian alongside Black Widow during his time in Russia https://t.co/X2h9QnoAyO

I wonder when he'll tell the kids he took time off to fight as Red Guardian alongside Black Widow in Russia.

This is how he became the Red Guardian!

There are also more complex versions.

What if Hopper was a Russian spy all this time running an experiment on the USA in stranger things but decided that he actually wanted to help and got sent back to Russia as a punishment and is his character from black widow pic.twitter.com/pNZptNj1II

What if Hopper was originally a Russian spy conducting an experiment in the US in Stranger Things, but decided he really wanted to help and got sent back to Russia as punishment and became a character from Black Widow?

Hardly all the authors of such posts believe in this theory. Some don't even try to hide the fact that they think it's a joke.
