The first trailer for Steven Spielberg's West Side Story has been released.

New adaptation of Romeo and Juliet.

During the 2021 Oscars ceremony , the first trailer for the musical film West Side Story was presented. Later it appeared on YouTube, including in a localized version.

West Side Story is an adaptation of the 1957 Broadway musical based on William Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. The plot centers on the forbidden love of a boy and a girl from two hostile street gangs.

The film was directed by Oscar-winner Steven Spielberg (“Ready Player One,” “Back to the Future,” “Catch Me If You Can”). The main roles were played by singer and YouTube blogger Rachel Zegler and actor Ansel Elgort (“Baby Driver,” “The Fault in Our Stars”).

The film will be released on December 9.
